And since everyone else has shown off their lovely Christmas cards I might as well share my e-card as well. That’s right, it was an e-card because I can never seem to get an actual physical card out in the mail… Maybe next year??
We spent the week of Christmas in the cities and had a great time. Livia absolutely LOVED the children’s museum in downtown St. Paul. We practically had to drag her out of the grocery store, she could have pretend shopped for hours.
Since this was the first Christmas that Livia understood what was going on I tried really hard to start up some traditions for our family that she’d remember. One of the traditions that I really liked in my own family was our advent calendar. It wasn’t the kind that had candy each day, it was just hung on the wall and had a mouse that moved from one pocket to the other. My sister, brother and I would usually race to get the chance to move him. So I decided to make my own advent calendar. I completely procrastinated and didn’t start it until the weekend after thanksgiving. It was done on December 13th, ha!
We always visit santa at Rheault farm… and this is the third year in a row that she’s completely freaked out. It’s hilarious how similar her face looks in all the pictures over the past three years.
We also got The Elf on the Shelf (thanks grandma!). Liv named her elf Lucky and was absolutely delighted to see where he had moved to every morning. In fact she was a little concerned that Lucky left us so suddenly and still asks about him.
And of course we did some baking, Liv takes sprinkling and sprinkles of any kind very seriously.
We also decided to decorate a gingerbread house, although this activity seemed more fun for me than it did for Livia this year. She was mostly into “testing” the decorations.
Santa gave her a camera this year! It’s so fun to watch her clicking away, she holds it up to her face even though she doesn’t need to. After taking a picture she’ll usually look at the results and say “oooh, that’s a good one!”.
I hope everyone is safely hunkered down in your cozy warm homes tonight. Check back this weekend for our contest details!!
back to the daily grind
Whew! Is it just me or does the holiday season seem to get busier every year? Between shopping, Christmas parties and traveling we are pooped! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families, I know we did! Now today we are back to the daily grind…well my hubby and I are back to the daily grind. The kids got to stay snuggled in their warm beds this morning as we got up and headed off to work! Now we are home and I am going to hit the couch. Good thing I was motivated enough yesterday to take down all of our Christmas decor so I can do just that! Well before I sign off I just thought I’d share the back of our Christmas card (yes, I got this great idea from the fabulous Ria!! hehe). This picture doesn’t really do our card justice since it was printed in a ornate shape, not just 5×7, but you get the idea! Now I am off to hit the couch for real. Have a great rest of the night!
Brrr ~ [FM Area Child Photographer]
Little “K” and his mama came up to the studio last week to have his 18 mo pictures taken. We had so much fun! We played, ran around and even sang a few songs (California Girls by Katie Perry was his favorite…he even sang along! SO CUTE!).
Then we ventured outside and it was chilly to say the least, but look how cute his little Ugg boots are!
Thanks for the fun!
Swimmin’ in the deep blue sea
I’ve had this song stuck in my head ever since cute baby A’s session. Her mom (my cousin, hi A!) would sing it to get some smiles for the camera. I would have to say it worked!
My cousin had contacted me about trying to find a photographer for her babies 6 month pics in the cities and I pretty much begged her to come to Fargo. Thankfully they were in Alexandria for Thanksgiving so it wasn’t too far of a drive. And little miss A napped the whole way. Don’t you just love that hat? It gave me a vintage vibe, so I tried something a bit different with the processing of this next shot. Yay or nay?
We did some family pictures too. I was told that the only person in this family that looks good in pictures is baby A. But I’m going to have to disagree.
Pretty cute looking family right? It was so fun to be able to take some great photos for a relative. I’m so glad my cousin gave in to my begging
. Ok, one more amazing baby smile to warm your hearts on this cold cold night.
Lucky baby brother
This sweet set of siblings came to visit awhile back because baby H needed his 3 month portraits taken. He was sound asleep when he arrived so wasn’t too happy about waking up. Since it’s Christmas card season we decided to do pictures of all three kids together first. I was very impressed with H’s big sister and brother, they were very patient when he got a little upset and did their very best to help calm him down.
Baby H sure is a cutie! Look at those cheeks!
He never gave me a big smile and I figured out why when his big sister said that he had smiled a bunch on the drive over. He was all smiled out by the time he saw me!
You sure are a lucky baby little H! Hope to see you (and your cute sister and brother) again!
Busy Boys ~ [Fargo Children's Photographer]
These 3 busy boys were up to the studio awhile back and they sure gave me a run for my money….I bet you can’t tell by the pictures though, can you???
Baby brother, I don’t think he knew what to do when I had him all alone. You could tell he was lost without his big brothers around.
Thanks for the fun time “M” family!
