welcome baby cohen!
This post is way overdue, but I wanted to share some maternity photos I took a couple of months ago of Sabrina, one of the Tiny Sprout photographers. She is such an adorable pregnant person, don’t you think?
Little Cohen was born at the end of March and is just the cutest little peanut. Here are some photos Sabrina sent us of her new little guy.

changes at tiny sprout!
Lots of changes have been happening up here at Tiny Sprout… the first announcement that makes us a little bit sad is the news that Casie will no longer be shooting for us. Her husband took a job down by the Twin Cities so of course, she had to go with him. We certainly will miss her and her creativity around here. The happy news is that she is expecting baby #2, so hopefully she will bring him/her in for a visit and maybe some newborn photos too! I am excited to announce that there are three NEW photographers that have been added to the tiny sprout team and they have been busy training in and building their portfolios and are now ready to shoot for tiny sprout clients. Introducing… Andrea, Jaci, and Sabrina. You can get to know them a little bit better by heading over and reading their profiles on the tiny sprout website.

Going Digital!
We’ve been making a few changes at Tiny Sprout Portraits! You might have noticed this post about looking for a new photographer to expand the team. There’s still time to apply! Another exciting change has been with our collections, we’ve gone digital!! Yup! A lot of you have asked for this and we’re happy that we can now provide you with your favorite high-res digital files from your session. It seems like a lot of our Tiny Sprout mom’s and dad’s are tech savvy and now you’ll be able to create photo books, birthday invites, digital scrapbook pages or anything else you can think of! You’ll also have the added security of being able to backup the files. If you’d like to see our new collection pricing just shoot us an email at hello@tinysproutphoto.com.

Would you like to be a part of the tiny sprout team?
Hello Tiny Sprout readers! I am excited to announce that we are looking at adding another associate photographer to the tiny sprout team. If you think this is something that would interest you, please e-mail Michelle at the studio (subject line: new photographer) and she can send you some more detailed information about the position, as well as information about how to apply. The applicant would need to be available at least two days per week and occasional weekends. If you are selected for a first round of interviews, you will be required to submit a portfolio of images of children you have photographed. The interview process will not take place for a few weeks, so spend this time pulling together a portfolio of which you are proud!
Fave’s of 2010 Contest!
First off, THANK YOU so much for making 2010 such a great year at Tiny Sprout. Even though we didn’t get started until August we still met lots of great families, spunky kiddos and cute babies. We thought it would be fun to share our absolute favorite portraits from 2010, but decided to make it a bit more interesting…
So here’s the scoop. We’ve posted all of our favorite photos on our facebook page in an album called Favorite Portraits Contest 2010. The photo with the most “likes” by midnight on Sunday January 9th wins that family a $50 credit. That’s right! $50 to use however your heart desires. Could go towards another session or towards ordering more prints from your 2010 session. So get busy bribing I mean politely asking your friends, family and strangers to “like” your kiddos photo. In order to do this they’ll need to be a fan of the Tiny Sprout facebook page first, once they’ve done that they can thumbs-up your photo!
Now let’s see all of the 2010 cuties!
We’ll announce the winner of the $50 credit on the blog Monday January 10th. Can’t wait to see who the it is! Good luck everyone!
Christmas Recap and FYI

And since everyone else has shown off their lovely Christmas cards I might as well share my e-card as well. That’s right, it was an e-card because I can never seem to get an actual physical card out in the mail… Maybe next year??
We spent the week of Christmas in the cities and had a great time. Livia absolutely LOVED the children’s museum in downtown St. Paul. We practically had to drag her out of the grocery store, she could have pretend shopped for hours.
Since this was the first Christmas that Livia understood what was going on I tried really hard to start up some traditions for our family that she’d remember. One of the traditions that I really liked in my own family was our advent calendar. It wasn’t the kind that had candy each day, it was just hung on the wall and had a mouse that moved from one pocket to the other. My sister, brother and I would usually race to get the chance to move him. So I decided to make my own advent calendar. I completely procrastinated and didn’t start it until the weekend after thanksgiving. It was done on December 13th, ha!
We always visit santa at Rheault farm… and this is the third year in a row that she’s completely freaked out. It’s hilarious how similar her face looks in all the pictures over the past three years.
We also got The Elf on the Shelf (thanks grandma!). Liv named her elf Lucky and was absolutely delighted to see where he had moved to every morning. In fact she was a little concerned that Lucky left us so suddenly and still asks about him.
And of course we did some baking, Liv takes sprinkling and sprinkles of any kind very seriously.
We also decided to decorate a gingerbread house, although this activity seemed more fun for me than it did for Livia this year. She was mostly into “testing” the decorations.
Santa gave her a camera this year! It’s so fun to watch her clicking away, she holds it up to her face even though she doesn’t need to. After taking a picture she’ll usually look at the results and say “oooh, that’s a good one!”.
